• The Modified Leading Edge has allowed pitch-regulated wind turbines to lower its threshold wind speed for energy generation. This breakthrough will allow turbines to generate more energy across its lifetime, especially for those situated in less than optimal climates for wind energy generation. This study was conducted in collaboration with the University of British Columbia – Okanagan, supported by Mitacs, and Doctor Joshua Brinkerhoff.
  • The exact percentage increase in Annual Energy Production (AEP) will depend on the unique blade profile of each individual turbine model. Up to 42.46% increase was seen in Sandia-SERI8 65kW and up to 13.11% increase in NedWind25 250kW.
